"Gardening is about enjoying the smell of things growing in the soil, getting dirty without feeling guilty, and generally taking the time to soak up a little peace and serenity." ~Lindley Karstens
We knew we had a number of gardeners in Windsor Gardens because they kept asking for space to plant. Finally in 2005 we opened the first Windsor Community Gardens with 32 plots; all of which were taken that same year. In 2008 another 17 garden plots were added to the Windsor West property. This area was chosen for its flat, sunny location as well as our ability to provide water to the site. Due to ever increasing dema nd we added an additional 30 plots in 2009 for a total of 79. All of the gardens are raised planting bed boxes, with their own source of water.
A Windsor Gardens Garden Club was formed to oversee gardening activities as well as provide a forum for sharing information and fellowship. Our gardens are not only producing a bounty of fruits and vegetables, they are also beautiful and add to the gorgeous Windsor Gardens landscape.
